Serivce Mode won't work

Hello All-
Got the XC-540 service manual, and am trying to enter service mode. When I do the combination listed in the service manual (hold down, left, right while hitting power) I get SERVICE MODE PROTECTED. It's firmware 1.6. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I've got the Sp-540V so it's probably different. But on my machine, you turn OFF the power, THEN hit and hold down the Maintenance button, as you switch ON the sub-power. That puts the machine in the Cleaning mode.

Maybe yours is similar?

there is a sequence of keys before your list and has changed over time.

unless you have a real reason to go there and a plan don't.

the supplier of the manual should be able to help.

I agree with wooley. You are likely to do more damage than good in service mode, unless you have been through service training.

To get into service mode for ANY roland this is the master entry.

Down, Right, Left, Up

Right, Down, Left

( Then press all and hold down )

Left, Down, Right, Sub power.

Certain machines do not need all entered, but entering all will still get you into service mode.
