Hi everyone, I've been a long time reader, but this is my first time posting in this forum. I have an issue with my LEC-300A. One of my employees allowed the printer to print a long job without having enough paper. The ink built up on the media, and now many nozzles on each head are clogged. I have tried a "head wash" with cleaning solution and only saw minor improvement. I've been working with the local service tech, and he thinks based on the test prints the nozzles have a good chance of being recovered. Unfortunately, I'm out of ideas. After reading the forums, it sounds like my best bet is to enter service mode and do a head soak. I have found some instructions in other posts, but nothing is crystal clear. So, I was hoping some generous soul might be able to shoot me a copy of the service manual and/or instructions for a head soak. Here's my understanding:
1. Put machine in service mode (using key sequence down, left, right, etc...) (what does this do?)
2. Lower capping station (using the long cylindrical tool with the squished end)
3. Pinch off the drainage hose to the caps (using alligator clips?)
4. Fill up caps (with cleaning fluid? using syringe?)
5. Move head back in place (manually?)
6. Lock cap station onto head
7. Let soak 8 hours + with power off
I've replaced dampers, cutting cable, and some other stuff on this, so I'm not a complete newbie, but I do need a little help if someone out there is kind enough to give it!
