service mode protected cj 500

cj 500 was firmware apdated for 4.4, and i want enter in service mode because i change new head.
i enter the sequences descrits in forum,but display shows service mode protected.

That pops up for a couple seconds and disappears on my 540v also. I just hit menu and it goes right into service mode.

Specially with the older CJ with the membrane keyboards it is nearly impossible to put in the sequence fast and reliable enough to get into service mode.

Put in the sequence as fast as you can, be shure that you have pressed the button hard enough, and perhaps after the twentieth or thirtiest try you will be successful

you need a second code. this entered befor normal service code.
hope i remember it right

left, right, up, down,right,down,left than the normal service code ! hope is right..long time to do. roland not my favorit toy

Service Code on the Cj-500 SC-500 and some of the older Fj's are Up Left Right Down after that hold down the same keys and push the start button to turn on the printer, it should put you in Service Mode it may take a few times to get this just right.

was first - up. left right down . after - left down right and finally within 5 seconds press at same time left down right while powering on sub-power.
and it works, tanks a lot of everibody, and special to dave of solventprintconversion.
