Service mode protected

I'm trying to change the dampers on my SP-540v but can't get into the service mode. It keeps giving me the Service Mode is Protected message which I know means that the keys I'm pressing in sequence aren't right. Anyone have any info to help me out here? Ver. 6.9. Thanks.

Why do you need to enter the service mode to replace dampers? You can easily do that without entering that menu.
