Service Mode Q

We are in the process of trying to replace the cap tops on our Roland XC 540. The srvice manual tells us to hold down the left, down & right arrow keys while turning on the sub power. We can't seem to get past it saying Service Mode Protected. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks a bunch.

Do a quick "Search" and use "service mode" for your title. I think there was one on your printer. You do some other key pattern then the all three together. I think it was : D,R,L,U R,D,L then all three L,D,R and power on.

You do not have to go into service mode to change the caps. Go into maintenance mode and you can change them from there. You just need to be able to get them in the up position.

Good Luck
