Sheriff Font?

I know this has to be a popular font but I am burnt out from looking. Can anyone help?

I am thinking Serpentine bold italic. guess i just need to see if its free anywhere.

I believe it is Serpentine (if its not bold italic then it was skewed) the bad news is, I do not think you will find it free. Elsner+Flake's fonts are never free (they might be bundled in a package, but they aren't given away) and the same goes for Linotype & URW++ fonts.

in case you didn't know....if you convert most of your ttf's, you should take a look at fred's tutorial on how to use font designer...it take a couple extra minutes to do, but pays off in the long run...

well the bad news is thats not it. Very close but not good enough.

It sure looks like Serpentine Bold to me ... with a distortion that appears to be the result of arching the copy.

Most all IN Sheriff's use serpentine bold for some reason.
