Shop Floors?

Getting ready to renovate the shop layout and needing some input on the flooring.

we already have removed all the carpet and now need to decide between polishing vs resurfacing (the garage floor stuff)

what is the durability between the two?
easy of cleaning, ink, paint, debri, etc...
general input

have though on vinyl but don't like it, easy to nick/scuff/etc... and if a machine has set there will be indentions/hard to move
Tile can break if dropped plus all the issues with the groute.

we have used the garage floor stuff in the past and it worked good but really like how the polish options allows for designs and multiple colors just not sure on durability/high traffic.

Hi, this may not be the answer for you, but we recently did our shop install bay with coin top rubber flooring. Comes in a few colors, lays flat, is nice and quiet, solvent resistable, etc. Our shop is 5000 sq.ft. so we only did it in the bay where we bring vehicles in. Cleans up nicely. (dripping oil, debris, etc.) Stuff is reasonable priced and needs no under floor preparation other than to sweep clean the floor. http://www.americangaragefloor.com/blt/coin-garage-floor-mats/

hadn't even thought of this type option but can see the advantage. Section gets messed up just replace it and no worries of it messing the floor up when removed

I've never seen that stuff before. Does the raised surface become a pain when you sweep it?

we had the commercial grade epoxy speckled flooring put in when we built our building. looks good and cleans up well. very happy with it. only issue we had is the combination of colorspan solvent ink, solvent ink cleaner and acetone took some of it up underneath that printer.

how does that work when doing wraps? do the small wheels on the stools roll easy over the bumps?

being solvent resistant sounds like a good deal for under the printers and no worries on ink spills since the mat is replaceable

we used sherwin williams armor seal epoxy on our floors its a bit pricey but holds up much better than the stuff you get at home depot cost is roughly $1.00 per sq/ft

Our space is around 5000 square feet. One part of that is production and the other half are our offices and so on.

In the office we have laminate and in the production part we have tiles.
