Shop Upgrade (Updated)

Signs365 has recently upgraded all the equipment in our shop with the latest and greatest the printing world has to offer. As such some of our older technology needs to be sold. We strive to maintain the leading edge in the technology so that our clients are able to offer that extra mile that is so crucial to the survival of a small business in today's day and age.

First, the new stuff:

Starting in October of last year we began purchasing the HP LX3000 printers. We were so impressed that we have continued to purchase more and more of them. These provide quality on our Banner that we were not able to come close to with our UV presses and it also provides speed and consistency to our Adhesive lineup that was simply not available before the LX3000 came to market.

For our Rigid offerings we opted for a pair of the HP FB10000's, we chose this bad boy for a variety of reasons. The main reason was the single array print technology, this layout of the print heads solves many problems that are inherent with a transverse head layout. Banding, both cure-banding and feed-banding, is entirely eliminated with the heads positioned in the linear array fashion. It also allows a perfect register on every dot on the print for perfectly repeatable color and precision cutting. Watching this machine churn out sheet after perfect sheet in less than 30 seconds a face is true wonder of modern technology.

That being said, we need to unload some of our legacy equipment, including:

2- GS3250r's (Start-Up Ink and Parts-Kit Included) with less than 6 months operating time with a full 1 year warranty backed by Vutek. (Decommissioned and Crated by Vutek)

1- GS3250 Vutek hybrid (Currently in Operation ready for Inspection)

1- Zund 3XL 1600 5'x10' (Decommissioned and Crated by Zund America)

Various Roland's & Mimaki's

2 - Roland XJ540 54" Roll To Roll

1 - Roland XC540 Print & Cut 54" Roll To Roll

3 - Mimaki JV33-130 54' Roll To Roll (1 - 2012) (2 - 2013)

Everything listed here is in good working condition. If there are ANY QUESTIONS concerning the equipment (old or new) please PM or post here! Pictures are available upon request.

Lookin into flat bed printers

I see you had Vutek GS3250, were you happy with it? Why the switch to HP? We are a metal fab sign company lookin into flat bed printers to bring our outsource work back inhouse. We have currently looked into CET, HP, Oce and just were notified by Vutek. Would like to hear your thoughts-opinions-pros/cons on anything you have to offer. Esp now that you are running HP's.
Thanks much.

It really depends on your price point. I know that the Vutek is an amazing machine, we have thrown thousands of hours worth of work at them with barely a concern.

The (seemingly) new guys on the block that are doubling down and expanding their capabilities to include the entire gamut of printing tech is Screen. They have a really nice true flatbed, WS3200UV, for what we do "true flatbed" is a really nice feature. We were considering them for a unique feature that their machine is capable of that adds several layers of ink to simulate a 3Dimensional effect, raised printing I think they call it.

I know almost nothing about the smaller HP FB machines. We have the FB10000 and I know that its entirely different than the 700's and the like. For the record the 10000 is hands down the most reliable machine that we have ever had in the flatbed arena.

I hear good things about the Oce and CET's but, again I can't help due to lack of experience.

From my experience I would definitely be in touch with Screen, EFI and HP if I were you. All three start at the entry level and go all the way up to the 100 sheets an hour range with their printers. But really it depends on what you need, they're all so different and so similar. Make sure you start with the right manufacturer for you though. Meet as many people from the company as you can and establish a relationship. It gets fun!

Sorry I couldn't be more help!
