speaking of masonite, I did a couple sign faces in'78 for a resaturant in NH.
Used 1/4 tempered masonite overlays on the old sign, finished with Sherwin Williams industrial enamel, 1shot and hand cut silver mylar letters. I saw them a few years ago out in front of a junk shop being sold as "antiques"!
