I've been using SignGold for a long time. At first it wasn't printable, you could only cut it and apply it. You couldn't even apply vinyl to it because of the tedlar coating.
Then they came out with thermal printable, which was great. Printed a lot of it in my Edge. But you had to be real careful to get the right stuff, the old style wouldn't print at all.
Then a few years ago when I was ordering Thermal Print SignGold I was told that they started making only one type, and it was thermal printable. So that was what I used and it seemed fine. Now, last couple jobs I did weren't printing great, not terrible, but not the way it should. So I start reading the literature from the box and see nothing about print settings? Go to the website and see there are two types, regular & thermal?! I call a rep at the company where I sometimes buy it who were the ones that told me about the ones size fits all material and he wouldn't exactly say what the story was, but that the regular stuff could be printed, just without the best results.
Am I nuts? Or is this another case of a manufacturer changing a product and not keeping their end users informed? Because that is getting old.
I thought I'd see if anyone here could confirm my experience before I go to the manufacturer to ask/complain.
