So we own a house now...

Bigdawg

Just Me
When Jeff's mom bought the house down the road from us, she set it up as a Joint Survivorship w/him. No paperwork, no probate, no nothing... when she passed away he became sole owner of the house with no mortgage.

The house we live in now is my mom's old house. She didn't want it sitting empty when she got remarried, so I moved in here with the intention of buying it and never moving out. This is home. This is our family neighborhood - my sister lives a couple houses down from me, my daughter lives in the new house, my aunt lives behind it and my cousin lives a couple doors down from that.

The only other "real estate" we've ever owned was a trailer in Tennessee (now how cliche is that?????). We never really decided where we were going to end up and every time we considered buying something - we moved to another state so we were glad we didn't.

Not sure what we'll do with it yet. We have 7 kids between us so I'm guessing it will always have one of them living in it. It's a little house so as families grow they'll have to move on. But it's good to know we have it to share

Good for you Stacy! :thumb: I am sorry about the way you happened to receive this gift with the loss of a loved one but, glad that you did receive it.

This will be a good investment for your futures together and a great way to help family members move up in life.

sounds like a wonderful little home that will give you and your family will make great use of which will really honor Jeff's mom and what she left you

Congrats on the house and sorry to hear of THE Bigdawg's and your loss, but it was evidently a well-planned out move on everyone's part.
Way to look ahead and be prepared. :thumb:
