This kinda reminds me back in the 90s, there was some 3D work on an audio drama version of Stephen King's The Mist (for those that don't know, one of my hobbies is the preservation of OTR shows, but I got started in NTR) that also required head phone use as well.

It was really well done.

I need to try to find my old gaming head phones and give this a try.

For the love of god, why would you torture your ears like that? I find the excessive reverb and the perpetual left and right panning annoying to say the least. I can honestly say I've never heard anything like it, which in this case is not a good thing.
