Soft for munument engraving

James Burke

Being a grandpa is more fun than working
Most of our work is stone engraving, but we also do a bit of stone fabrication and custom cast bronze work as well. We use a mix of SignLab, Gerber Omega, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw and AutoCad...and occasionally, Photoshop.

Each does their own thing extremely well.

SignLab is our mainstay for engraved bricks and pet memorials. But for the fussy jobs that require extreme text and node editing, I prefer Omega since there seem to be fewer cutting issues with imported design elements from AutoCAD and Illustrator.

From what I've seen, MonuCad appears to be a pared-down version of AutoCad LT. MonuCad shows examples on their website....pretty much your basic .dxf vector images...not to different from Corel, other than the way they edit the images.
