I have having a mix of regular and reverse rolled material - especially when it's harder to tell the difference.
Reminds me of my first year in printing. My boss told me to throw on the gloss vinyl (we usually ran matte) because the customer specified gloss. So I grab a roll of gloss and start printing. After we're almost finished printing, my boss starts yelling from the printer room. I come in and he's throwing a fit because I put on the wrong vinyl. Instead of the CHEAP gloss, I mistakenly grabbed our premium cast gloss vinyl. And these were some cheaper-than-he-should-have-priced-them coro yard signs. I was new enough I didn't realize the difference, especially since 90% of our printing was on matte. But he also severely underpriced the signs on this job. In the end, we chalked it up to a learning experience for both of us.
When I started my new position here, I made sure we had plenty of the core ID cards, since we have such a wide variety of materials. I'm the only printer right now, but someday that'll change. And it's better to have the system in place.
