SP-300 Pump problems

When going through the cleaning cycle there is ink coming out somewhere near the top nipple for the drain hose.

At first I thought it was just the hope so I cut a piece off and put it back on but when I trying it again it's not the hose but somewhere near the nipple.

My question is the pump is about four years old and keep in mind this printer only gets used for about 30 minutes every few day's.

Are those nipples for the upper and lower hoses part of the pump or are they a separate piece.

Thanks for you help. Jim

Include a picture if possible.

The old style pumps will fail over time as the tubing will move or swell slightly and get pinched by the internal white gears creating a split in the hose.

++those old style pumps are known for that. Change the pump and all will be good. Not a real had job. The new style "click" when they operate, so if you don't hear that clicking sound you have the old style pump.

Next problem

Thanks Bobby with the quick reply.

After looking a little closer at the problem I noticed something I did not see the first time I looked everything over.

The housing that lifts up under the heads had a space I could see through.

A simple adjustment on that carriage to move it up under the heads and I started the printer and no leaks!!!!!

I have never seen it do this before is something wearing out or does this just happen from time to time?

Cap Tops

Yes the cap tops were sealing under the heads.

The pump that is on my SP-300 is the newer style and is about 4 years old.

I only use this printer every few day's for 30 to 60 minutes a day.

I have been printing a few things and the problem appears solved.

Thanks Jim
