SP-300V solid cuts look like sloppy perf cuts

My SP-300V cutting is getting very sloppy. Some solid cuts look like bad perf cuts. Seems to happen randomly, just a few spots in almost every job no matter the vinyl. I changed the blade, tried changing depth and speed...see my crappy pict for the crappy cuts...Thanks!

Check your cutting strip for any deep grooves and replace if needed. Also, oil the bearing in the blade holder. The blade needs to be able to spin freely otherwise it will tear the vinyl when it changes direction

Huh...I've never lubed the blade holder, i'll give that a shot and see! Thanks! The cutting strip looks good, just replaced it a few months ago.

... use a very light silicone oil, one that does not spread at all. The silicone can negatively affect adhesive (don't use too much), but it will be the least likely to leave any unwanted residue elsewhere. something like Prisco Slide works well on these tiny bearings.

Never go against the family
I always have an extra blade holder in stock.
Once they start sticking, they're usually not too long for this world, lubing them up is usually a temporary fix in my experience.

No problem. It is normally worth adding a drop of oil every month as part of your monthly mini service just to keep it all running smoothly

If you lube them regularly they should keep going for ages. The one in my 15 year old SP is only the second holder I have had to buy for it
