SP-300V Stops after completing print and will not cut

Hi All, I have a problem with my SP-300v. It will print fine, but at the end of the print sequence, it wont return to the origin point and cut the job. I can print and cut using the print/cut crop marks but this requires me running and resetting the job twice. I've been at my wits end trying to find a solution. Please help!

Hi, Yes I have been through the loop trying to sort it out. It started happening when I performed an update on Versaworks. I restored my PC and the problem went away, but then a few years went by and I had to reinstall Versaworks. Ever since, I haven't been able to print and cut. I can cut. I can print. I can print with crop marks then reset the material and cut but I can't print and cut in one operation. I've tried literally everything. There's probably a simple answer but I cannot find it.

If you dig around in VW there are places to set it to cut. Different options etc...

I am not at VW but if you can't find the settings I will post tomorrow.

Hi, Yes. I've had no luck with any VW settings. I've tried all the menus on the Versacamm. I've even checked on the SERVICE MENU. I've uninstalled and reinstalled software/drivers... Tried a new install on laptop which had no previous version of VW on it. Had the back of and cleaned motherboard connections. Tried everything I can think of. If I run a print/cut alignment test, it will print and cut. As I said in previous post, there must be a simple solution that I cannot see.

The first place to look is in under SETTINGS ---> CUT CONTROLS ---> OPERATION MODE and see if it is set to CUT or PRINT & CUT.
There are also some check boxes you can select under OPERATION MODE to modify what it will cut. You should be creating cut lines in whatever software you are using to do your artwork in. If not you can get it to cut all vectors in the file, as an example...

If it is set to cut but still you cannot cut, got to EDIT ---> QUEUE A (or B) SETTINGS ---> CUT CONTROLS ---> OPERATION MODE and see if it is set to CUT or PRINT & CUT.

If the CUT or PRINT & CUT is greyed out, go to MEDIA ---> MEDIA EXPLORER ---> select you media and double click ---> on the left under MEDIA SETTINGS ---> choose CUT CONTROLS ---> check ENABLE CUTTING.

If this is greyed out, you can edit the profile but you have to edit a copy, not the original. ^ Use the above to choose your media then ---> right click COPY MEDIA (there is also an icon above the profile list) ---> rename your media copy ---> then go to the new copy at the bottom of the list ---> select you media and double click ---> on the left under MEDIA SETTINGS ---> choose CUT CONTROLS ---> check ENABLE CUTTING.

Try these and update us...

Yep. Nothing works. I've tried all the above. Didn't have a problem until I updated VersaWorks a few years ago due to a reinstall. I've even tried installing VW on a laptop. Clean install. Same results. I've all but given up now and am looking at the prospect of buying a new printer.

Ok. Latest update: I found and installed Versaworks version 2.4.0 on my laptop and it prints and cuts fine. I will stick with this version from now on until I come across any further pitfalls. Still don't know why later versions wont print and cut though.
