This is for a VP-540, but it might be the same ?
Service Mode :
1. Make sure the main power is on.
2. Make sure the sub-menu power is off.
3. Button sequence: Down, Right, Left, Up, Right, Down, Left.
4. Immediately after that button press sequence, hold the Left, Right and Down buttons together and press the sub-menu power button.
The printer is now in service mode
