SP-540V and Windows 7

I'm in need of help to get back printing. I tried searching the forums to no avail.
Here's the situation.
My RIP computer may be shot.(it's out for repair, maybe) Good news is I have a brand new replacement with Win 7 Pro.

So I figure I'll go to the Roland site and download VW, but I need to register first.
Typed in all the info, and it shoots back my serial number isn't valid.WTH?!
Tried multiple times with different combinations/ spacing, and got nuthin' except:frustrated:

IIRC I have the original 1.0 VW disc floating around. Can I use that to get a base install then upgrade VW from the web?

Last part, is there is anything special I need to do since it's Win 7?

Been so long since I've had to mess with any of this I've forgotten what I did to get it running in the first place.(getting old is great...)

I'm running a VP540 and Windows 7 with no issues. You should be able to install and upgrade from there - but I don't know that for sure... we did it that way when we installed the new computer (many moons ago )

If you have the disc, you can install it and then upgrade from there. Here is a link to the SP-300V download section (The model doesn't matter here). Select, "Software Updates" from the drop down menu and it will show you the download links. You will have to upgrade to version 3.02 first and then can upgrade to the latest version from there.

So far it's a no go. IIRC it was always an address conflict, but we can't find our notes regarding the fix.
