SP300i - Can't access wiper blade carriage

For some reason the carriage that holds the wiper blades is recessed so I can't replace the wiper blades.

Just pull it out.

IIRC while in maintenance mode you need to push the down arrow button. That moves the carriage out. If you're replacing the wipers you will also have to reset that in the maintenance menu. Otherwise it will keep chirping saying they need to be replaced.
