Hello all, Im going to try an explain this on the fly in laymans term because I cant find its name. The print head as it moves back across to the drain/clean position moves acrooss a square metal box with a sponge located in it. What is this called. It has been full for months and I feel this maybe where I am picking up ink that is dripping periodically across my material. That sponge is totally soaked and I feel I need to take it out and sgeeze the excess off and reinstall. ANyways What is it called? Thanks a bunch.

I think you are talking about the surge mist sponge.
They are about $2.50 and there is a little sponge under it also (looks like a "T") which is also about $2.50...it helps draw the ink down from the top surge mist sponge.

Hope that helps.

Funny I couldnt find it in the manual. Probably because I havent read every single word yet.

Its soaked and Ive been cleaning up around the edges of the box. Thats all Ive been doin and now its seems very full.

How often do you change it?

We change them when they look like they could use it.
But prob about 2 times a year i would guess.
We just watch them when we do our regular cleanings and when they look like they need to be changed we do.
I dont know what roland recomends as far as time to change them.
