SP540 printing issues

Hello all,

i am currently running 250 prints out (850x1450) on oneway media on our older printer Roland SC-540. the first 30 came out sweet, but then all of a sudden the print started pushing to the left with every pass of the print head. it is moving across about 3-5mm at a time. so after an inch or so of printing im already 20mm crooked and there seems to be some kind of fuzzy overspray as well. i have clean the machine, heads, linear strip, everything multiple times and still no difference. any help or suggestions would be extremely helpful.

Thanks - Ben

Merry Christmas

ok so problem finally solved. touch wood. after repetative cleaning of the linear strip and the problem getting worse everytime, i noticed the strip was held on by a tiny spring and as i was cleaning from left to right i thought perhaps it was getting looser and this could be why the print was getting sloppier each time. so i removed it tightened the last coil and BOOM its a chritmas miracle, crisp prints once more.

merry christmas and a happy new year to you all

Ben-

So, what you are saying is the problem was because the spring had sprung, (stretched), and the fix was to shorten (tighten) the spring, right?

That is good to know, I will try and remember this fix if I ever have a similar problem, how old is your SP540?

Thanks

I don't hate paint, I just overlay it.
I think we had something similar when we printed a graphics from a cd

Hello. I have the same machine and problem.

Can you explain better what did you do to solve it?

Regards and congratulations
