Has anyone experience this? How did you resolve it?

When I Send jobs to the printer, the now heating button flashes. After 15-30 minuts I get an error "heater timeout". The only way I can get a print out is if I turn off the heater/dryer on the printer. Even when I do the settings in Versaworks it still timesout.:help:

the only time i have ever seen this happen was when the heater switches on the botton of the machine were not set to the proper voltage. if you have an SP model of versacammm there are two heater swithes underneath the machine. they should be set to 115V, not 230V.

dryer timesout everytime

I am surprized that nobody ran into this situation. That make me doubth what Roland tech support just told me. ""There are 2 thing which may cause this. 1 The area where the printer is located is below 68 degrees. (Absolutely not the case). 2 If you are using media less that 54" you must cover the remainding holes with a piese of media. For example, if you are printing on 36" you must cover the holes on the additional 18".

How does that sound to you guys? :help:

Covering the holes?

Never had to do that with mine.

Room temp below 68 degrees?
Is that what he claimed?

Might affect the print quality, but it will print.

Talk to a different tech, was that an actual Roland factory tech, or a supplier tech? Either way, talk to a different tech.
