SP540V stops mid-print

Okay here's a weird one. Printer stops printing while printing then refuses to print more. Still get's the page size and printer status, still prints a nozzle check, but when I hit the go button VW shows the progress but nothing happens at the printer.
The printer is connected directly to the computer and I tried replacing the network cable but it did not help. It is a crossover cable right?

IP adress issue? Going direct does need a crossover cable, and also assigning a static IP address on the PC as well. If it used to work with the current settings and no longer does, you could try the "initialize application" option. Be aware this empties the cue.

Have you had this direct connection working for a long time? If not, I would get a router and then plug the cable to the router, then the printer. Use Peck or CoPeck to find the printer and the ip address. This is available from Roland.

Had this happen on our roland a few months ago, it was a damaged encoder strip and sensor, replaced both and it was good as new

Cross over no longer needed if using Windows 7 or higher.

Does this computer have a wireless connection also being used to access internet?
