Speaking of building things...

We've been inspired by the last few posts about building work tables and what not. It's not the same thing (although it is a table of sorts that I do work on) but we just finished making a new desk. Here it is:

It's all oak. My dad, brother and I worked on it a little here and a little there in between jobs. I made the plans for it using CorelDESIGNER which has some cool CAD like tools.

We are in need of some new production tables too, so I think that's the next project.

For the last 9 or 10 years I've been using a really cool old drafting table as a desk. Now it sits behind me and I can actually put it up at an angle and use it to draw now. The thing is a beast and weighs a ton. I want to resurface the top and possibly give her a new paint job.

Nice work! I bet it is nice being able to use the drafting table at an angle as well.
