Special effect

Does anyone know how I might go about getting the effect thats on the black box, the smoke or marlble effect, is it something I need to use Photoshop or would Illustrator work as well?

Do a google search for Smoke Texture, overlay it on a black rectangle, adjust transparency to get the effect you want. Viola!

Or go to like shutterstock, or any stock image site. Download an image of black satin sheet, it will have the shadows and highlights like your image. Then lay a black box over it and slowly back away the transparency until you get the effect you want. The black on top will just tone it down a lot

Free stock photography. This effect really is easy to achieve with just brushes in photoshop.
