We did something similar printing on clear with optically clear lam. We designed in Flexi and I think we ended up using 2x ink (Roland EcoSolvent printer).I have an estimate for the school. They would like some of these windows to have a stained glass look that will reflect to the floor. Ideas of materials to use? Thanks!
Oh interesting!I've got some really cool window films you can print on. I've got some optically clear, "blurry clear", and even one with white prisms already in the film to give you a bit of a fake white point (and creates a bit of a backlit effect at night if the lights are left on).
Do you have white ink? solvent/latex/UV?
What do you mean by 2X ink?We did something similar printing on clear with optically clear lam. We designed in Flexi and I think we ended up using 2x ink (Roland EcoSolvent printer).
They didn't specify...I think either would be OKare they looking for a matte finish or gloss?
Good idea. I can tell you, I did a job for a customer. He wanted to create a private office but printing a graphic on clear and putting it on the window in another office. It was difficult because the clear lended itself to much more transparency than what he wanted. HOWEVER, it might be what your customer is looking for. The prints look almost too transparent on our machines.I think to start I should print and laminate on clear and bring a sample up there
On the Roland in VersaWorks you can do 1x ink, or 2x or 3x. 2x Doubles the amount of ink used... sometimes handy when printing on translucent vinyl. You can also print twice on clear, laminate one, and lay it over top of the other if it looks too pale when lit up. On your Epson, you likely have the ability to increase the number of passes and effectively get similar results. What do you mean by 2X ink?
Hey Mark, Can I ask for a test roll on the website? or do I need to go through you? I'd like to check it out. This is such a cool product and it will work on your latex. https://cgxusa.com/products/panorama-two-way-vision/ If you want a test roll, they are free but ask that you provide a UPS or FEdex number to cover the few bucks in freight. The adhesive is 'removable' but it won't come down or anything.
Which one would you recommend for my application? I see there's quite a few. That is a laminate. The Two-Way Vision is the clear film with white prisms which give you a bit of a 'fake white point' and looks really cool.Which one would you recommend for my application? I see there's quite a few. This one?
