Stand alone Wacom Tablet coming soon

Just ran across this. Wacom has come up with a stand alone tablet that I personally like the idea of. I'm not sure if 13" display area is too small or not but I like the portability of this thing.

Hoping to see some future youtube videos of it in action when it's released...

Looking forward to this thing. I use their 12" Cintiq on the production laptop (which doubles as my travel laptop) and 12" isn't all that bad of a workspace. Granted it's not like the 21 UX, but it isn't as bad as you would think.

Definitely can't way to see this thing when it's out.

It's not cheap but I don't mind that considering its a stand alone tablet without needing to tie into a computer.

I love my 24HD!! I can't stand working without it now. I am a Mac guy, so I am not so crazy about the Windows8 part. But I am definitely gonna check it out!

Thanks for the link on the stylus, heard it was in the works but had forgotten about it (no release date last I heard). That's going on my list for sure. I'd tried other, single-level, ones before but none did more than a 'pen on cocktail napkin-esque' drawing. 2k for a standalone Cintique would make me regret it while still smiling, another 2k gone and another gadget to haul around, but it sure would be cool. If the stylus works with the iPad I normally carry, that'd do good enough for rough sketches and annotations on-site and I'll stick to my wide format Intuos at the office. It pairs nicely with my Macbook Pro and cost a hell of a lot less, weighs less and I'm less afraid of breaking it.
