Stand Off Sign

I have to do a 3'x3' black sign with an orange and green logo. This has to be installed using the stand off mounts I have never used these before and I find out after that he wants the black background. My original idea was to reverse the graphics on clear acrylic.
How would I go about this and keeping the cost down? I was thinking of putting the vinyl decal on black PVC or Alupanel$$ ? But is it the sheen that is important with a standoff? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm confused what's the issue. Buy some 3/8" black acrylic or 1/8" black ACM. Cut it 3x3. Drill some holes. Mount the vinyl. Finish the job. Black PVC is also an option as long as this is an interior sign. I wouldn't go thinner than 1/2" though. 1/4" will be too flimsy.

If this is an office display sign you want to stay away from PVC or ACM; PVC can get damaged to easily (mars and scratches) ACM looks bad from the edge and cheap. Normally if one is using standoffs the finished sign should look finished.

1) Black Acrylic(Graphics on the front)...

or

2) Clear Acrylic (Graphics on the back side) and Polished edges

If you go with clear acrylic, with graphics on the back, apply orange and green logo, paint the back of the acrylic black with an oil based enamel, then apply black vinyl to protect it from scratches.
