Ok I've been saved. They just want me to letter the sign now. No installation. Not sure what they are doing and I don't want to know. :)

Thanks for the info, I'm sure it will come in handy on another project.

I said one us one losing it, now I'm certain which one of us it was :) That's frightening, as I read that thing about 6 times and never saw it. Maybe the Maker's Mark/blood ratio is still two far up the scale :)

It's an interior sign in a salon. Just talked to them. They said they may go 24 x 48. How about this size using glass? How many standoffs?
It's an older building. Actually the ceilings in this place are really high.

Thanks for the help.

I would make the sign and take it to a frame shop and have a frame made .
It would look great and be more rigid.
Then just mount the frame with stand offs concealed or not.
/ your work is art is it not ?

Just did this 3x6' 3/16 plex with 1/2 black letters stood off the yellow panel, Mounted to wall with 6 1" standoffs, I get them from my materials vendor but you can also get them from fairfield displays or outwater plastics. For a 4x8 panel you could get away with 6 safely but I would do 8 standoffs because it would look nicer being a few fqft bigger then the one shown
