static cling ink getting left behind on windows

we did some static cling stuff for the chamber approx 7" x 4" and i had one stuck on our window. i just removed it and half the ink was left behind on the window!
any ideas why this would happen? is this normal? how can it be avoided?
it was made using white static cling on our vp540i, with the roland static cling profile and was not applied on the window for several days so had plenty of time to dry.

It can be avoided by using a thermal printer and printing mirrored and backing with white on the opposite side of the cling.

yeah we've done stuff before on our edge, just we had to color match a perticular purple so we did it on our roland this time.
just concerned, as i don't want ink being left behind on windows!

That is one of the issues with printing on the same side!

so i guess in the future just do it reversed and flood coat it with white then if it needs to be color matched on our roland yeah?
