Static Cling??

I have a local car dealership that is looking for static clings for the windshields of there cars. The company I sub print work to uses Solvex static cling material, which is not recommended for outdoor use. Anyone ever done any for this purpose, if so what material was used & how long will they hold up.

I had them calling for the same thing. I ended up just selling them removable vinyl because it was cheaper for me to do that than to mess with the static cling end of it.

Tend to agree static cling are not very useful outside, they tend to star curling up within a mth. cost 3 times as much, after sitting on window in hot sun it basically is ruined when ya pull it off.

on the plus side if curling, ruining, cost, print hassles, are ok they are easy to remove and can be saved with some stretch with careful removal water is needed big time.

Thanks! I remember years ago, seeing car lots with prices and year models on windshields that were static clings. They were usually yellow & black and due to the way some were faded figured they must reuse them for a while. Ol well, guess we'll see what they think of using removable vinyl.

I use to screen print numbers on static cling for dealerships, the cling was made by Flexcon. Who knows they might not be around anymore.

I've looked around online and found some places selling these on removable vinyl (not static) for alot cheaper than I can outsourse them. I'm debating now if I should just give them the website and let them order them or if I should order them and try to make a few bucks.

Quit buggin' me
We have been using this for a while now:
http://www.catalinagraphicfilms.com/mojaveproducts/mojave1/window-graphics/item/193-spmhsw
Pretty good results so far. Rated at 6 months outdoor.
We've had it on some exterior windows at a few stores for over 6 months and they still look good.
We've also done some for the local GM dealer and they are working. They move them quite a bit and reorder as the promos change so they are never out there long term, but anything on a car windshield is not going to be permanent in any case.

General Formulations has a good static cling. Comes in sheets if you are screen printing and rolls for digital. Pretty sure you can get it through Advantage.

I remember seeing letter sets which were pretty cheap for this. static cling, made for this kind of application. I imagine if you wanted to make ones that said stuff like BIG SALE or FULLY LOADED then do some customs and make em look similar to the set. The set letters looked like they were screen printed. Came in florescent, standard colors, etc. Sure it'll be cheaper then putting in an order for em. Full alphas, and I believe you can order numbers seperate.
