STS White Ink Issues, LUS-170

Just a heads-up for people using STS Inks for their UV printers. If you're using their white ink, check the barcode tag underneath the main label and make sure it doesn't say "SB.UV.655.5000.W" This ink is WAY thicker than spec and has been clogging like crazy and according to STS, the ink is incompatible with the application. I guess there was some kind of mix-up. Not had issues with CMYK or clear inks thankfully.

SB.UV.550.5000.W should be fine.

I’m generally cool with a 3rd party ink….but don’t bother playing with white and 3rd party.

Mimaki has also had some pretty rough batches as well. White ink is just inherently a gamble.

True, but less of one. I tried sts in a few machines and it didn’t have positive results unfortunately
