havent changed anything and one of the printerheads are close to brand new. Its been standing for a while tho (1-2weeks). Ive done some manual and auto cleaning, no result.

What about:

"Ink Control - Pump up"
"Ink Control - Head Wash"
"Ink control - Empty mode"

I have the user and service manual but cant find anything about the ink control menu.

thanks!

First thing to always check is that the drain lines (pump lines) are not plugged. If it has sat for a week or two and not been doing auto cleanings (my older printer does not auto clean) then there is a good chance the ink is clogged in the drain line. Use a syring and cleaning fluid and force some through. Watch to see if it goes to the drain bottle.

After that if you can hook the syringe up to the captops then try to draw ink through them manually. Listen for an air leak. If you hear one that will be the reason no ink is getting drawn into the heads.

Power clean

Hi,

This may be obvious steps, but I just checked out printhead cleaning on Roland DGA's support page. If you have this many jest out, you need to do a Power Clean. Have you given that a try yet?

Powerful Cleaning:
To access the Powerful Cleaning process press the Menu key and scroll to Cleaning. Press the Right Arrow to enter the Cleaning Menu and scroll down until Powerful Cleaning and press Enter.
On the VP & RS series machines this feature is located under the Function button. Select Function and then scroll to Cleaning, press the Right Arrow to enter the Cleaning Menu and Select "Powerful" and Press Enter.
The Powerful Cleaning should be used when 40% or more of the nozzles are missing, such as the image shown.

Note: Powerful Cleaning evacuates the ink that is in the head chamber, dampers (the ink reservoir on top of the head) and ink lines. This is a substantial amount of ink and it will be replenished from the ink cartridges so it is important to be aware of the ink levels in the cartridges when starting this process. Ink levels can be checked in Versaworks by going to Printer and selecting Printer Status. The window on the left will be shown. If there are exclamation marks like the ones shown here it is definitely important to have back up inks on hand in order to avoid down time without ink. In the event the Powerful Cleaning does not clear the issue try moving on to the Manual/Maintenance Cleaning.

Manual/Maintenance Cleaning
When the automated cleaning process isn’t successful it is time to perform the Maintenance Cleaning. Follow the prompts in your User Manual or download the Maintenance Cleaning Video or Document from www.rolanddga.com. This is the same cleaning process which should be carried out on a regular basis.

Let us know hoe you get on. You might also try Roland's email support if you need more input: http://www.rolanddga.com/owners/support/

Look at the head surface,if you see ink drops then take care about cleaning cycle\wiper
If surface is clean then its still clogged:
Put a few drops of cleaning liquid(must be the same formula as ink you are using) into capping station, close the tubing so liquid stays inside and leave it overnight..
