Hi, I have a summa D60R and the clamp that holds the blade in place has cracked. I have tried glueing it but refuses to hold the two pieces together. I have been in touch with the dealer here in the UK and they say its not worth repairing as it will cost over £700 to fix it, £400 for the part and £300 for summa to install it, seems a shame as its a cracking piece of equipment.

I had that happen to my Summa and fixed with JB Weld Plastic Bonder (after trying other epoxies that didn't work). It really sucks mine was built that to fix this properly you would have to replaced the entire carriage assembly - mine would have been over $2K to do.

Replace it yourself (which I do not recommend). But no wonder as labor is almost half of that.

But what head do you have if it's 2k? CAM?
