Supplier for Custom award ribbons - singles

hello all,

We do some engraving and awards but never got into award ribbons. A trophy shop in town recently went under, and we are picking up a lot of their request from customers. Most we have been able to fill except for customer award ribbons. I have found a few suppliers looking around online, but most want to do a minimum of 10-25 of each ribbon. We have customers look for 1 or 2.

Any recommendations for a good wholesale suppler that will do 1 or 2 of each award ribbon?

no one is going to make 1 or 2 ribbons, the setup involved in printing the ribbons makes it completely unaffordable to do small runs.

We don’t usually do it as it’s a pita but when we did we’d buy ribbon kits from conde systems and heat press them. I think conde is gone but Johnson plus or coastal might have them. You sublimate the ribbon in sections (unless you have a large press or rotary press) and then they have a snap on connector/hanger to attach them to the medal so you don’t have to sew

Usually we get ours done overseas but in a pinch we print in house

I just learned how to change my title status
Fuzzy in my memory, but somebody makes a printer that will direct print onto ribbon material and it wasn't too stupidly expensive. I don't remember any detail or what company, but I remember seeing it a few years ago. It seems like it was reasonably priced enough that it may be worth doing a little digging to find if it keeps your customers coming to you and allows you to keep it in-house. If I ever remember who it is I'll jump back in here.
