Take Up Reels

I'm not sure where to post this hope this is the right spot. I'm looking to purchase a few take up real tubes. I have just started using 54" vinyl and laminate and it is a pain when trying to run a long job to not have an empty tube to wind the vinyl up on. Does any one know where I can purchase empty 3" core 54" wide tubes? Thanks in advance.

Oh my.... just ride by some other established shop after hours and peek in their dumpster. There will probably be several. We throw so many away it's crazy. After seeing some creative ideas for them though I'm going to start saving them in rack and make some furniture. :)

Otherwise a box supplier probably has them. Not Uhaul, look up corrugated containers in your local area....

I used to tape 24 and 30 inch cores together when I first got the 54" printer. Now I cut 54" cores into 24 and 30 so that

Really? He is here every week and kicks them around when we haul in stuff. I should throw them in his truck!

HA! when we first got out take up reel I was worried about not having enough cores to re roll.....I think in about a week we had a stockpile!!

And to make matters worse the weird hording obsessions still haunts me. I stop my guys when i see them heading to the dumpsters with cores, asking them to hold on to a few....there must be 30 of them back there!!
