TECH FOR ROLAND sp300

I purchased a Roland SP300 machine this weekend and saw it print and cut various images and it did both print and cut just beautiful, 1:30pm Saturday afternoon Downey Ca. we removed the cartridges and locked the head in place loaded into my truck with the cover on it brought it to my shop and didn't touch until today Monday morning at approx. 9:00am, first test print was light and not all the colors were being printed after a like 3 power cleans and 3 ink pumps recommended by previous owner still not working test print only showing cyan, any help would be highly appreciated

Yeah call the previous owner! Failing that try the usual suspects, Dampers, Capping top and hopefully not the head(s).

Hey Thanks, I'm very new to owning a digital printer, what do I look for on the dampers, do I carefully remove them?
Also not sure what you mean by "Capping top"

I just found pics of them, could it be that big a problem to where I need a tech, I just did another test print and all I'm getting is CYAN? I mean it printed beautiful on Saturday.

Pull the cover near the control panel....is there even ink in the ink lines?? Transporting can empty the ink lines out...if that's the case go into service mode and do "ink fill" until it pumps ink to all lines. If there's clearly ink filling all ink lines all the way to the head -- good luck

I did this option below about 3 times:
my option is menu + ink control + pump up, Yellow and magenta lines are empty all the way back to the cartridges except for the cyan and black but cyan is the only one printing.

Check with others first, i think you can park the heads, and use a syringe in the lines on the bottom of the capping station and suck ink through the heads into the capping station....Ink fill works for me every time.

Like I said, check with others FIRST before doing the syringe thing...don't know if it really works?

Clean all your capping stations then run a cleaning. You most likely aren't getting a good seal to the print head so when you do a cleaning the pumps are only sucking air. You can check this by putting a syringe on the bottom of the damper hose. If you pull air your not getting a good seal.

OK I tried the syringe test and I'm assuming there was a good seal because it drew both yellow and cyan in to the capping station after that I did a test print and now we have blk cyan and magenta just no yellow, what should I try now?

OK did 2 medium cleans and looks like all is running!! printed a few images and only concern I have is looks like its laying down a lot of black, is there an adjustment for that?

Had this happen once long ago. Was about 8hrs before I was able to setup for a test and all was well beforehand. Printer was covered in vehicle, however being it summer and traveling with windows open, must have had enough warm air passing through that things got dried up some. The problem was quickly solved after a regular cleaning and basting the heads for a few seconds with a loaded swab.

When we moved our SP 300 from one shop to another, our Roland distributor told us, don't xx or you will yy. It was about a 15 minute trip. I don't remember what we did or didn't do, but if I recall correctly, we just printed some images on cheap vinyl and the problem - similar to that which you describe - cleared itself up.

I would suggest calling your local distributor to find out what xx and yy are, but wouldn't get too concerned - nor would I start pulling off parts to find a problem that may not exist until you speak to an expert on the machine.
