testing material and laminate

I'm testing a new vinyl for murals and laminate. My test is more about adhesion, edge curling part. If I do a 12inX18in test and everything look good after let say 5 days, can I assume that a larger piece like 48inX120in will behalf the same thing at the same 5 days on the same wall?

thanks.

my inexperienced logic says no only because I think when you move up in size, weight increases, which will not help, but theres also more surface area to help hold it up. Just my thoughts though, hopefully someone who has done this sort of thing will chime in.

I would tend to agree with Chris. A bigger piece would most likely absorb/be effected by humidity, temp and other factors.

Ok and if I know that this material ALONE is good in 48inX120in (even more). The laminate is 80% thinner than the material itself.

Not quite sure what you were asking in the past post.

I have a material that is designed for murals. It's a product similar to phototex but it's flat like a vinyl and it 7mil thick. My customer want it laminated for protection and my laminate is 1mil only (non pvc). I've made some sample 12inX18in and it hold very well compare to phototex + laminate (for the same size).

Since I don't have a wall big enouph to try a 48inX120in peice, I was wondering if it would work.

Is it more clear?

Yeah, I got that. It was the last post about 80% thinner, etc. I think I am clear now. I am not familiar with those materials so I can't say for sure. I would think the largest piece (closer to size) you can test on the wall will give you a better example. Are you testing the piece on the same wall in the same environment that the finished piece will be going on?

Yes, I'm testing it on the exact same wall. I only have a 30in sample roll of the mural stuff and I did not want the customer to have a too large piece in his conference room. I also put some in my office. I've tried this material (24inX36in) with a 10mil canvas look laminate and the print and edges are holding there without any edge curl in the past 30 days.
