If drugs were legalized, they couldn't be any more readily available than they are now (even at 1am). If they were "legal", I'd probably have to wait until the "drug" store opened in the morning.

I don't agree with that. I think if you legalised drugs and more importantly, they became socially acceptable, usage would go up.

Anyway, drugs are a completely different problem, the demand / market for which is fuelled by people consuming them and wanting more.

Guns are not a consuamble and people don't get addicted to them, meaning the black market for them would be tiny in comparison.
