Well, this has A different spin on it, so it doesn't upset some of you naysayers lately.........

On my way in this morning, I stopped by the BJ's store near our shop and picked up some paper items and some power bars. I thought I had enough money on me..... in my pocket. I got up to the register and the girl [who I won't mention if she had a beard, white, black or lesbian to remain non-prejudiced] told me the amount and I was 68¢ short, so I said, I'll take one of the items away, go back out to my vehicle and get the extra money for the rest of it.

She looked at me and said, don't worry about it. I'll cover you. I said I'll be right back in with the 68¢. She then said.... you'll do no such thing. You just go on and enjoy your day sir.

I know they usually let you slide for a few pennies, but 68 pennies ?? Random acts of kindness are scarce enough, but when it happens to you, you just feel great the rest of the day. I won't forget that one for quite awhile.

Has nothing to do with it being BJ's, Sam's Club, Costco or any other of the cheapie stores, it was just so nice to hear her say, not to bother. It saved me running back out to the truck in the rain and back in and well, I'll just have to remember to put more in my pocket than I think I'll need.

:peace!:

Excellent,.......I would go out of may way to ensure this act does not go without notice,... a kind note to her "superiors" (whatever that means?) perhaps...........

Well, I don't think I'd go that far. If by chance, she just short-changed her drawer, it could come back and cost her, her job.

See, I had a similar incident at Lowes a few weeks ago. This was on the opposite side of the coin. I bought some sandpaper and a roll of painter's tape and at the checkout the girl said..... do you want a bag for this. I said, yes, I would, if I may. She said sur-r-r-r-re. This place gots lotsa money and can afford a few bags and she stuffed like a dozen or so in my bag. I took them out and said, I only wanted one, thank you.

See, ya never know, so I thanked the girl at the check out today and left it at that..... she did a nice thing and I didn't want to go any further.

take the time to write a note as people like this don't tell people of their kind deeds and having a customer tell her boss means a lot.

Go Bills!
you write a note to her boss and I bet she gets reprimanded for stepping out of the corporate box....

I had a girl let me go on a penny last week. she said "$9.01" and I looked at her with pleading eyes and she said "I'll let the penny go, I have a $2 drawer limit at the end of the day."

maybe you should stop by next time with some wine and a brownie:toasting:
:Big Laugh I see what you did there.

The smaller Korean liquor store in my neighborhood regularly keeps me from walking out with 96¢ in change in my pocket and it makes me appreciate them for it. There is a much nicer liquor store with better prices I could go to but I don't very often.

You want Gino to take a bearded, mulatto, transvestite person to lunch. He probably would go tp McDonalds drive in and get the buy one get one free meal and eat it in the car as he drives back to BJ's.
