I posted this in another thread, but in case you missed it, it seems to be beyond serious....there's a 5 page .pdf file you can download to determine what is considered 'life sustaining".

They claim they'll be taking action for non compliance beginning Saturday morning.

Amidst all that, the governor is keeping alcohol manufacturing humming along...and the beer, wine and liquor stores open...I assume that's to sustain his own life (from PA residents who'd kill him, if he did close them down!).

The seven counties extending outward from the San Francisco bay area including OURS are now under a similar "Shelter In Home" mandate until 4/17.

We're 210 miles away from SF, so that gives you an idea of the area covered. Ours got announced yesterday at 3pm and goes into effect in 25 minutes at 5pm.

Problem is that nobody is listening and still going to malls, restaurants, having parties etc. Look at all the spring breakers down here. These people ruin it for everyone else so they end up just shutting everything down. If people dont want to be forced into things then listen to what they are asking you to do. If people would be responsible and just go to work then go home it may not have come to this. This is gonna hurt and wish you guys well.

California just got announced also.

It's going to happen everywhere... something needs to change, asking people to social distance just doesnt work. People are stupid, plain and simple. All it takes is a few idiots and it puts everyone at risk - I had a co-worker who said he was battling a fever all weekend, but he was in the shop on monday because he felt fine... He was of course told to go home when I heard about it, but of course he didnt mention it for half a day, so he could have got everyone else sick. We have DAILY meetings about Covid and if you're sick to stay home, if you have a fever or dry cough or flu like symptoms, quarantine yourself for 2 weeks WITH pay, but people still don't listen.

I went to Mcdonalds for lunch - No seating indoors is allowed... but there was a line up of 30 people inside all huddled together ordering food... Thats worst than if people were allowed to sit and wait for their food. social distancing works in theory, but in reality... everyone has a "Wont happen to me" mentality and they just ignore it.

Maybe it's "Tryanny", maybe its an over reaction... but I'd rather not wake up to USA or Canada becoming another italy with a death every 3 minutes. Better safe than sorry.

I work from home, so it doesn't affect me much. It's not a shelter in place order like California, it just limits what businesses can be open. But it doesn't affect mass transit, so figure that out. People around my area have been very cavalier in treating this virus - just like the 'spring breakers' there are still soccer games going on, people having mass picnics (in the few days it's been nice) etc. It's a government move that has p*ssed alot of people understandably but needed... but for how long?

The way I'm interpreting the order here is that any business that is providing what is considered an "essential service" that affects the health, safety and welfare of the community can remain open including banks, restaurants, gas stations and grocery stores, but only take out, delivery or drive thru food can be served. NO EAT IN MEALS.

One of our clients is a septic tank pumping service and they have a 30 foot tanker trailer they have to put into service to meet the demand and the State DOT won't let them on the road without the tanker being marked, so we're doing that over the next two days so they can provide that "essential service".

Otherwise, the general public is expected to confine themselves to their homes.

I pulled into the business park this morning and it's like any other day. The woodworking shop, electricians, HVAC and the offices of a small local restaurant chain are all open and staffed in full. I don't think some of them got the memo and based on knowing most of them and their politics, it makes sense why they are ignoring the order.

We're getting this one job done out on location nearby in an open yard with nobody else around and then that's it, we go home.

You were there this morning going to work, so maybe they got the same memo you did. Everyone really can find a way to consider themselves "essential service" just like you did.

I explained it right there in the post you quoted. You don't consider a septic tank pumping service and the sign company trying to help them get a much needed piece of equipment into service "essential"?

Then, you're a bigger tool than previously proven.

At this point, if you cannot figure out if you are essential or not, just go to work like the toad. The National Guard or State Police will let you know.

Essential businesses, services and sectors include:
- Food processing
- Agriculture
- Industrial manufacturing
- Feed mills
- Construction
- Trash collection
- Grocery and household goods (including convenience stores)
- Home repair/hardware
- Auto repair
- Pharmacy and other medical facilities
- Biomedical and healthcare
- Post offices and shipping outlets
- Insurance
- Banks
- Gas stations
- Laundromats
- Veterinary clinics and pet stores
- Warehousing

Non-essential businesses include:
- Community and recreation parks
- Gyms, including yoga, barre and spin facilities
- Hair salons, nail salons and spas
- Casinos
- Concert venues
- Theaters
- Bars
- Sporting event venues and golf courses
- Retail facilities, including shopping malls
- Restaurants are urged to only offer carry-out and/or delivery orders

I just don't see how essential it is to take 2 days to put two DOT numbers on a vehicle. The rest is kinda non-essential, unless you really wanna create a problem.

Electricians, HVAC and restaurant people have been deemed essential. You're a bigger idiot then I would of thought.

Indeed. Philadelphia cops already announced that car theft, retail theft, drug dealing and prostitution may proceed without fear of hindrance or prosecution.

But your legitimate business? Oh No! We're hutting that down! Your business is gone and it's not coming back. Have you considered a career in pimping?

Gino, i read it the same way. I have let go of all my employees, but i am still going in and keeping the lights off, not answering the phone and locking the doors. I have put up signs saying we are closed.
