I've heard/read that quote too. If one has learned anything about world history, and mankind... we will doom ourselves fighting with each other. Sure, some one eventually came out on top in past wars, but our science has brought us to inevitable doom. It's really just a matter of time... This time or the next.

Let's face the facts; we will have to learn how to live with covid, just like we do with other kinds of virus infections.
Vaccin will be a part of it, to protect the most vulnerable and make it easier for the rest of us, and maybe we need to get used to wearing face masks in crowded places.
Later incarnations of the virus seem to be spreading a lot but are less lethal, but we have no idea what they see in China right now, possibly (and hopefully) they are just overreacting.

China has always been a freak about having zero covid. Numbers seem low to the rest of the world, but for China it's a big problem. I have my own conspiracy theory... that they released the virus into the world to test out if they could block it from attacking their own country.

China has always been a liar about Covid. Back when Wuhan started they claimed there was under 100 cases.... Yet all the photos released showed thousands of people getting cremated.... there were thousands of posts / confirmed cases of people who had their family in the hospital, or confirmed they died from a disease before they clamped down on social media postings....

Think of how jam packed NY city is - most chinese cities are 10X as cramped... Their Vaccine is completely ineffective against Deltas, which they confirmed they have... My wifes family gets tested 5-10 times a month, whether they have symptoms of not - They make you line up outside of your apartments every few days and you get tested.... yet their numbers are so low.

China has 117k cases total... Florida was finding 31.5K Cases per day at their peak. No matter how good china is at locking down, their numbers are completely fudged... And China doesnt have the best human rights records... I dont think they'd shut down a whole city unless the virus was out of control.. 400 confirmed cases since late feb is nothing!

Thats my conspiracy theory... Although I do believe China made Covid, I dont think they released it on purpose.... If they did, theyd have infected someone and sent them to America rather than having a inconvenient leak right next to their Sars/Covid lab
