We did an all inclusive Jamaican honeymoon and it was great! WE had a little bungalow, I liked to call it the "love shack", about 50ft from the ocean with a tiki bar in between! They only complaint I had were the locals that roamed the beach trying to sell you crap, but after the 2nd day they seam to blend right in with the scenery.

Congratulations!! your wedding will be 4 days after my 32nd birthday!

Congrats to you too GG!!

I'm booked for Turks & Caicos in June. Looks absolutely beautiful. I almost chose to go to Cabo San Lucas, but decided to go a little more exotic. My phone won't work there (I planned it that way!). I haven't had a vacation where my phone didn't ring off the hook ever. It's not a vacation if you're still working.

Hey Chris did you look at Puerto Vallarta? I'm really considering that or the alaskan cruise.

Also i've been to Turks and Caicos, i wasn't really impressed.. really flat and sandy..

Puerto Vallarta is nice but the Mayan Riviera is so much nicer and well worth the extra cost.
If you decide to do the Alaskan cruise, you will most likely be in Vancouver for a day or two. PM me and maybe i can tour you around a little.

Here's my advice to you. No matter where you go, make sure the damn head board is good and solid. Don't ask me how I know.
Congrats

We framed our house for our honeymoon. Never even took a vacation for the first 10 years. Finally took a week in OBX, didn't vacation the following year.

We went back the next summer and I said HEY!, This vacation stuff is pretty darn nice. Why don't we take one EVERY summer? Been going yearly since.

I guess what I'm saying is enjoy yourself and don't let work run your life.

More importantly: Where you go is not nearly as important as who you go with.

Best of luck in your new venture.

My wife and I went to Florence, Italy. The food & atmosphere were stunning.
( we do the Islands thing every year, so we wanted something different )

I looked at a couple Carribbean islands.. and Cabo San Lucas. Decided on Turks because the water looked so nice. Flat and sandy sounds good to me--I don't plan on leaving the beach. With the phone not working and a beachside bar at the all-inclusive resort, I'll be set.

A friend of mine just told me the other day to NOT do the Alaskan cruise. Said it was terribly boring. I mentioned I might want to do it next year and he said he and his friends (8 couples) all hated it. He said the Mexican Riviera cruise was VERY nice, and would love to do that one again.

Peurta Vallarta is nice is you like things quiet. (older town, less craziness). If you're into more wild, more stimulation, Cancun is better. Water is azure blue with sugar white sand.

Beats the Pacific in my opinion and I've been to both places several times.

If you go to Cancun, be sure to hit the Bongo Club. Place doesn't even open until 11:00pm. Goes all nite.

...I was going to go Europe, but every time i leave my shop for a day they called me 30-40 times an hr so i would like to stay somewhere in a similar timezone (not USA)

I can tell you right now - as a Married mad - if you take a business/work call on your Honeymoon - You will NEVER hear the end of it. It is a bad way to start off your marriage.

Your honeymoon is suppsed to be a vacation from the stress of all your planning and the craziness that comes from marriage but it is also meant to be time dedicated to each other. If I were you, I would bring your phone simply for emergencies ONLY. I understand that you may be the owner of a business but it's not fair to you or your Wife to have you talking to work people on your honeymoon! Leave the work at home for 1 week. You will both enjoy your time together ALOT more.

Mexico was great for us. They have great resorts and trips to take. I suggest an all inclusive resort package - that way you don't need to worry about food costs and drinks. I've heard Alaskan cruises are beautiful and the cruises alot of the time have all inclusive packages as well.

Don't let these nay sayers stear you clear - marriage is great! But its certainly not all roses and picnics. It takes two to Tango and at least that much to make a marriage work. It is ALOT of work but if you truely love her then you will find that you will work at fighting for it. Think about the vows you are about to say to each other. I don't think people really understand what they are saying when they say it. Take them seriously and remember them whenever she does something to anger you - whatever the reason.
I told my wife before we got married, I don't believe in divorce - but there are only two situations where I will consider it. Those two are Infidelity and if she tries to kill me - and I mean ACTUALLY tries to kill me. All other actions and situations are capable of being worked out. Where there is a will there is a way - being willing to comprimise, be willing to work out your differances and hopefully she will be willing to do the same. If you are then you should see no reason to be married for the rest of your lives. Good luck!!

go to Europe or some place you may not get to later in life. Once you are married and if you have a family, things can get bogged down (in a good way) and you may not have the chance to do that kind of travel later. what ever you do, just relax and enjoy each other! congrats on your up coming wedding.

Yeah we both are the same. We don't believe in divorce. 2 stipulations. Try to kill me, or cheat on me. then im out.

but i agree with it all.

Ive been to almost every country in Europe. We were going to do the whole Mediterranean cruise. I've done that before and it was absolutely beautiful. Santorini is just an amazing place... along with Rohdes and mykonos. I think we're going to do this short 1 week hop to mexico or alaska, and then come sept/oct when we slow down a bit i think we're going to hit up Vietnam.

I agree with Gino... cruising is the way to go! :thumb: Since meeting my beautiful wife on a cruise almost 9 years ago, we've been on 17 cruises and never, never tire of them! If you can get over the hassle of flying to the port and the line up to get on the ship... the rest of the trip is more relaxing than you know! You can do as much or as little as your heart desires! If you do choose a cruise... get a balcony room! :rock-n-roll:
