Trouble getting to cut

Got a old Roland CX-300 given to me. Was gonna use at home just to cut paint masks for airbrushing. It seams to work good. Test cut. Plug in the USB to my computer and load a setup in Production Manager. Select USB 1 says cant open port, try USB 2, cant open port, try USB 3 can't open port. I'm using windows 7 64bit and Flexi 8.1 Where should I start? Any suggestions on how to get it to work. Thanks

I would suggest, if you haven't already, going to Rolands sight and downloading the latest drivers for it. http://support.rolanddga.com/_layouts/RolandDGA/productdetail.aspx?pm=GX-300

Also 8.1 may not be 64-bit compatible.
