Tutorial on using Illustrator to create oblique projections

The part about the object>blend>make does not work too well. You end up with objects that are stairstepped. I wish the SMOOTH extruded look was that easy using the blend

VD - i doubt that would be an issue once it is turned into the 45deg. lines

Hmm why not. Isn't the 45 degree just a fill? It is filling the stairstepped shape so that still remains. Unless I am missing something

The gray box in the last step uses that stairstepped shape

You can just select the anchor points by clicking and dragging and delete them.

But that deletes the whole segment. Doing so in Illustrator does not eliminate just the anchors. You would have to draw the missing segment back in. Not a big deal on a couple letters but this same function on a serifed set of letters or dozens of letters would be time consuming

All fine for small printed work but these issues show up on a grander scale
