correct me if I am wrong, but I have to say 3D studio, Strata, maya, or some other 3D software was used to loft paths and apply textures and lighting to #15.

It's a simple Corel bitmap effect called "Fabric" You can choose Needle point, Rug hooking, Quilt, Strings, Ribbons, and Tissue Collage, Then assign the size of the texture and the angle at which the light casts against it.
