Our new project has arrived and we are excited to share another build. This one will be headed right onto our production floor as soon as it's done.

First step is a full deep cleaning. These printers are upwards of 8 years old in some instances and the dirt and dust build up is quite thick.

Nice - I like seeing these old machines rebuilt - Are you replacing the Ink supply lines ? Ive never gotten up the nerve to spend on a new factory set .

I run a few syringes full of flush through the lines. Flow was nice and smooth but I'll still flush the entire system for peace of mind.

Head carriage all buttoned up. Damn this thing is looking clean! Control panel is the last thing to refresh. Vacation time but more updates in a few weeks.

Did you buy this machine from someone in UT? I was speaking with someone lest year about a similar machine that was in bad shape.

I'm also wondering how the progress is going on these, very interesting to see the refurb process.

Thanks for all the feedback! The 3042-HG is in full production and is one of our go-to machines for production. I have about 4-5K in parts/heads. I don't use the OEM Mimaki head assembly because it costs so much so I source my heads separately and then purchase the damper and damper adapter along with the Mimaki ink tubing. I will NEVER buy a newer MKII machine as I am not a fan of the printhead or the overall quality from all the plastic parts they use. These older generation UJF machines are workhorses and I'll keep rebuilding them as long as parts are available.

Hi, good work! I have a Mimaki UJF 3042 HG, I have black that doesn't print, techs say printhead, do you have any tutorials or videos on how I can replace the printhead?
