Old machine. Been sitting forever. Powered up for a few seconds, then shut down. Heard the 48v power supply fans spin. Now nothing. On PCB b d11 and k LEDs just flash. They were on steady before. I see no popped anything on the board, all fuses test fine. Tried isolating PCB b by removing all but the power lead, still flashing on those LEDs. Any ideas?

Hold Up/Down arrows when booting to see if it at least goes into Parameter mode. Might be a bad EPL board.

Nothing holding up and down. Just those LEDs flashing on the PCB. Feels like something is blown.

I'd lean towards EPL board, it's basically the motherboard. It takes control input and operates the screen and can run solo as long as it has power.

Will an epl2 board work enough to test if the EPL 3 board is bad? I have a spare epl2, but I think the faulty board is the EPL 3.

I think 3's and 5's are compatible, a 2 'might' work. However, note that before moving an EPL board from one model of printer to another, it needs to be flashed with a special generic firmware for compatibility before it can then be flashed to a model specific firmware.
