UJF 3042 Printing Grey Problems

Anyone help with printing grey onto black acrylic for some reason I can't seem to get a light gray even when using grayscale? We are using rasterlink rip software too.

You're printing onto a black substrate so you have no whitepoint to create a light grey. The inks are transparent.

Hi Thanks for the reply, we are putting white down first but not getting the light gray we are after when we print the gray on top?

what color are you getting as a result instead of gray?

You need to take into account the black substrate. Your white underlayer is probably already gray, so any gray ink will be darkened by that. Do you have any problem printing light gray on white substrates?

We have problems printing grey as well with our UJF3042 not sure if its just the ICC or the ink but its always an issue for us.
